Can I drop off my dogs for daycare/boarding without a reservation?

Accepted Answer

We strongly recommend making a reservation ahead of time, both to ensure we have your dog's current vaccination records, and that we have enough space for your pup! We would hate for you to show up and have to turn you away because we are full. We always appreciate a call for a last-minute reservation! Note that all new customers do require a reservation for a free evaluation day.

How do I get my dog started with doggy daycare and/or boarding?

We offer a free evaluation for all new dogs. This consists of a day at daycare to determine if Austin Pup Culture is a good fit for your pup. You’ll drop off your dog in the morning and pick them up in the afternoon or evening. We’ll provide feedback at pickup, and if all goes well, your dog is welcome to attend daycare and boarding services.

What is the bet way to contact you?

Question 4

What do I need to bring for my pup if he/she has a boarding stay?

We provide beds, bowls and bedding for all pups. We accept smaller beds and blankets (that will fit in a washing machine) but generally do not take larger dog beds. You are welcome to bring a personal item for your dog’s comfort, but do not allow toys that are unsafe for a dog to be left unsupervised with while in their suite, including tennis balls, small chew toys, and raw hides.

What is your cancellation policy?

Our goal is to be as flexible as possible. There are certain times of the year that we will enforce cancellation fees, including Spring Break, July 4th, Thanksgiving, and Christmas. For those times, we will require at least 7 days’ notice prior to your check-in date in order to cancel without a fee. Thank you for your understanding!

Can you give me a run-down of a typical day for my pup at your facility?

All boarding dogs are let out first thing around 6:45am and then brought inside for breakfast. Group play starts at 8:00am and continues until noon, with dogs rotated throughout the group time based on size, temperament, and other socialization factors. All dogs go up for nap time from 12:00pm to 2:00pm, and then playtime resumes from 2:00pm until about 5:30pm. At that point, boarding dogs are given dinner and let out one last time around 6:45pm for a potty break before bedtime.

What are your pickup and drop-off times?

Pets may be picked up or dropped off at any time during office hours. Earlier drop-offs are recommended so dogs can acclimate and expend energy before bedtime. For daycare, drop-off is required in the morning and pickup in the afternoon or evening. Office Hours: Mon – Fri: 7:00AM – 12:00PM and 2:00PM – 7:00PM Sat: 8:00AM – 11:00AM and 3:00PM – 6:00PM Sun: 3:00PM – 6:00PM

How much play time will my dogs receive? Are they out in play groups the entire day?

Accepted Answer

The evaluation day will help us get an initial feel for your pup’s energy levels and play style.  We do rotating play groups, and dogs with high energy levels who get along with everyone will often get the most time.  As much as we value play time, rest is also an essential part of a balanced pup, so we require down time during naps as well as after a session of play.  We focus on grouping your pups with other dogs who will provide the best quality of play rather than just a set amount of time.  We aim to have every pup out for at least 3 hours each day.  If at any time you are concerned that your pup is returning home too tired or not tired enough, please bring it to our attention and we can work to modify his/her schedule the best we can.

Question 9

My pup does not enjoy social time with other dogs, can he still come to daycare or boarding?

Accepted Answer

As long as your dog is not aggressive towards other dogs or humans, we are happy to accommodate them at Austin Pup Culture.  Some dogs enjoy playing more than others, and some are just comfortable being part of the pack but are less playful. They will still be in playgroups with other dogs throughout the day, as we don't offer one-on-one service.  We will always be transparent with you regarding how your dog does in our care.

Question 10

My dog has severe separation anxiety, can he still come to daycare and/or boarding?

Accepted Answer

If your pup often gets severely stressed when alone, or in new environments, our facility may not be the best fit for them.  We strive to make daycare and boarding as fun and stress-free as possible, but we will not be the right fit for every pup’s unique needs.  If your dog prefers being at home to be comfortable, we recommend having a professional dog sitter to minimize the stress of having their humans away.
