NEW TO AUSTIN PUP CULTURE EASY AS 1-2-3
STEP 1 - MEET REQUIREMENTS
Austin Pup Culture’s requirements are in place to ensure a safe and healthy environment for both pets and staff. Please note that it is best to administer vaccinations at least a few days before coming to Austin Pup Culture's or any kennel. First, this gives the vaccination time to take effect and thus better protect your pet. Additionally, some pets may have negative reactions to vaccinations shortly after they are administered. Please either have your vet email vaccination records prior to your first day or you can email us directly.
Requirements for All Dogs:
+ Current on Rabies, Distemper/Parvo, and Bordetella (Kennel Cough) *Vaccines must be administered by a vet
+ At least 3 months old, although 4 months of age is encouraged for the health of your pet. All rounds of vaccinations must be completed prior to coming in. Puppies are still developing their immune systems at an early age, thus there is a slightly higher risk factor for young puppies in any kennel environment.
+ All dogs must be on a regular flea preventative.
Requirements to Ensure Dog Dafety:
+ Spayed or neutered if over 7 months
+ Must not exhibit aggressive behavior towards other dogs
+ Must socialize well with other dogs. Note that some dogs aren't overly playful and that is perfectly fine! As long as they are not reactive, these dogs can still fit into the pack.
+ Must not exhibit aggressive behavior towards our staff
STEP 3 - EVALUATION
We require all new boarding and daycare dogs to come in for a complementary evaluation day, which is simply a free day of daycare. During the evaluation, our trained staff will introduce your dog into the play environment and observe how they behave in a social setting. This process not only helps us to ensure the safety and compatibility of all dogs at APC, but acclimates your dog to our environment.
